The 19th ChinaJoy Expo & ChinaJoy Plus Press Conference is held in Shanghai
On June 9, the 19th China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference (ChinaJoy) and ChinaJoy Plus Online Carnival Press Conference was held at Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai. The organizing committee announced that the 19th ChinaJoy will be held as scheduled from July 30 to August 2, 2021 at Shanghai New International Expo Center.

1. General information and highlights of ChinaJoy:
The 19th ChinaJoy will be held from July 30 to August 2 at Shanghai New International Expo Center. The theme this year is “Create Dreams by Technology and Win Future with Fun". A greater scale is anticipated this year as it has recovered significantly from the impact of the epidemic last year. There will be more than 300 BTOC exhibitors, taking up an exhibition area of 120,000 sqm, and more than 200 BTOB exhibitors occupying an area of 15,000 sqm. Foreign exhibitors will count over 100, accounting for about 30%. Chinese exhibitors will include the three major telecom operators, i.e., China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, well-known digital entertainment firms, such as Tencent Games, Netease Games, Shengqu Games, bilibili, Giant Networks, Perfect World Games, Kuaishou, Duoyi Network, 360 Games , TapTap, IGG, and Seasun Entertainment; the well-known e-commerce platform JD; and top smart hardware firms Huawei, OPPO, VIVO, Lenovo, Honor, Xiaomi, Tongfang, OnePlus, etc. will attend the exhibition. ChinaJoy will introduce a number of new themed exhibition areas this year to develop new potential sources of growth in the industry, including Trends, Figure Model (CJFM), VR/AR, Sci-Fi CON, Creative Games, digital human, and the exhibition area for the 1st China Game Innovation Awards. They will provide more comprehensive and diverse digital entertainment experiences to hundreds of thousands of visitors.
Games "going global" is a major part of development for China’s game industry which is undergoing a new era of high-quality development. During this ChinaJoy, the International Game Business Conference 2021 themed by "Innovative exploration of Chinese games on the path of globalization” will also be held, in which outstanding firms operating overseas are invited to share experiences of game export in terms of precise positioning, content enhancement and localized operations. It aims to build an exchange platform for SMEs, exhibit Chinese style games and independent games with Chinese cultural connotations, and help SMEs achieve diversified forms of overseas expansion. At the same time, it will work with professional orchestras to hold game-themed symphony concerts, demonstrating the artistic image of China's self-developed game products, and effectively enhancing the “go-global” quality and level.
Besides, there will be also a variety of on-site exhibitions, conferences, and activities with overwhelming richness. 2. ChinaJoy is available online and offline both; ChinaJoy Plus online carnival kicks off
In addition to the ChinaJoy event offline, the 2021 ChinaJoy Plus will be launched at the same time. The project is comprised of two sub-brands: ChinaJoy Plus "Super Live” and "Super Buy". It will be co-built by many mainstream online platforms (including TikTok, Kuaishou, bilibili, Weibo, Douyu, Migu, Taobao Live), to comprehensively enhance the influence of ChinaJoy, a world-renowned exhibition brand IP, and expand its audience coverage to a wider range of online users. ChinaJoy Plus this year will be further upgraded compared with last year. The organizer plans to build a dedicated livestream room on the exhibition site, equipped with professional devices, and specially hire a professional content planning team and a live streaming producer and director team. ChinaJoy Plus "Super Live” will ally with TikTok, Kuaishou, bilibili, Weibo, Douyu, Migu and other cooperative platforms to provide a marvelous visual feast online by means of live streaming, short video and cloud game demo. While ChinaJoy Plus "Super Buy" is about to, with collaboration from e-commerce platforms like TikTok, Taobao Live, Migu, present an e-commerce carnival in various online e-commerce forms ever day during the 4-day exhibition event. Meanwhile, the organizers of ChinaJoy will also work with major digital entertainment companies closely to co-create content and to improve the content of ChinaJoy Plus online carnival to the greatest extent, and thus simultaneously providing greater support for the immersive experience content of ChinaJoy offline.
3. Develop sophisticated epidemic prevention and control measures and security guarantee plans and ensure full implementation of them
ChinaJoy has received high attention from the organizing committee and the leaders of governments at all levels. A safety work leading group is set up to formulate comprehensive safety work plans and emergency response plans. In view of the special situation of epidemic prevention and control, the organizing committee of the exhibition will conscientiously formulate comprehensive epidemic prevention measures and emergency plans in accordance with the requirements and guidance of the epidemic prevention department of Pudong New District, Shanghai, to ensure safe and orderly development of the ChinaJoy event. The committee shall get down to all aspects of the epidemic prevention and control of the event, be detail-oriented, break responsibilities down to each individual, and therefore scientifically conduct preliminary work and anti-epidemic work on the exhibition site.
It will strengthen its efforts for on-site epidemic prevention this year to ensure the health and safety of visitors, and encourage vaccination before participating in the exhibition, for a number of incentives for vaccinated visitors are about to be introduced (to be announced later). And it advocates the “all for one, one for all” public epidemic prevention spirit, and calls up visitors who have bought tickets to vaccinate in advance, working together to conduct epidemic prevention of ChinaJoy with China speed, China strength, and China reputation.
Epidemic prevention and control: the “six must” general principles should be followed, that is, identity must be checked, information must be collected, body temperature must be measured, masks must be worn, disinfection must be done, and emergencies must be handled. Visitors buy the ticket online through real name registration (including ChinaJoy's official APP and applet, damai.com) to make an appointment for the visit, and enter with "health code", "ID card", "passport" and valid certificates for exhibition. No offline sale of tickets is provided to avoid overcrowded condition. Visitors have to go through code inspection and temperature detection when entering the venue, so that reinforced efforts be undertaken to give accurate temperature measurement roundly, no dead corner, and to capture abnormalities duly.
On-site safety: To ensure the event be held in a stable, smooth, safe, and successful manner, and to keep lives and property of the public safe, the organizing committee will guide, supervise, inspect and implement all safety and security management tasks from different perspectives. It has formulated safety plans on entrance and exit management and flow control, on-site medical rescue, epidemic prevention, fire safety supervision, booth construction safety management, on-site showgirl and performer management, on-site clothing management, lost item management, on-site exhibitor activity management, safety responsibility management, etc. It has also improved security emergency plans and emergency response procedures for major critical diseases.
